When Your Car Knows You’re Tired: A Gentle Wake‑Up Call for Your Gut and Your Life
By Jessica Clancy‑Strawn, MA, RDN, LD — Love is Kind Wellness
Gut health plays a powerful role in digestion, immunity, and overall well‑being. It’s one of the most important areas to support daily.
Have you ever been driving a rental car in another country when the dashboard suddenly lights up and says: “I think you need some coffee. Don’t you think you should pull over?”
And you’re sitting there thinking, How does THIS car — a car that doesn’t even know me — think I look tired?
Or you’re working in Copilot — writing, proofreading, emailing, juggling life — and it gently reminds you: “I think you need a break. You aren’t a robot.”
It’s humbling, and honestly a little funny, when technology reminds us of our human limitations. But maybe that’s exactly the message we need right now:
Slow down. Your gut — and your whole body — is asking for a break.

A Message for You, Wherever You Are
Whether you’re reading this from the Houston heat, the New York skyline, or the Oregon coastline, I’m glad you’re here. You may be joining from the Canadian mountains or the Alaskan salmon streams. Maybe you’re in the Midwest cornfields or driving along the European country roads. You might be soaking in the Greek isles or standing near the Egyptian pyramids. Perhaps you’re looking out over the Australian horizons or walking through the Brazilian rainforest. You may even be near the Indian Himalayan mountains or the Great Wall of China. Wherever you are in this beautiful world, I’m grateful you’re here.
Whether you live there, dream of going, or have had the opportunity to visit…
I’m grateful you’re here — and I’m excited to pour into you again.

💛 A Gentle Nudge for Your Gut (Start This Today)
You might be wondering, “How can I help my gut health right now?”
The answer is beautifully uncomplicated.
1. Slow down when you eat
Mindful eating sounds cliché, but it’s powerful for digestion, gut health, and energy.
If you’ve ever eaten with me, you know I’m guilty of rushing — but slowing down truly helps your body process food.
Earlier this year, when I got really sick and my stomach was off for nearly a month, I learned this the hard way. Small bites, slower chewing, and giving my body time to process made a noticeable difference in how I felt.
Try this today: Put your fork down between bites, take a breath, and actually taste your food.

2. Pair your meals with sparkling, no‑sugar‑added water
Choosing sparkling water without added sugar can be a small but meaningful shift:
Refreshing and enjoyable
May support digestion for some people
Choosing it instead of alcohol may help keep blood sugars steadier
Some people even find the bubbles soothing and satisfying
